Tae Takubo continues to present realistic paintings that make you think that aliens and spirits in the forest are mysterious yet actually exist, mainly with delicate color expressions and dreamy lines.
Takubo, who has a disability called Down syndrome, has won many awards and continues to create attractive works at the Hayashibara International Art Festival 'Star of Hope' 'Drawing an Owl' and 'Drawing a Mona Lisa'. This time, about 30 works including representative works such as "The Residents of the Space Forest", which won the Yuji Akimoto Award at the Big Eye Art Exhibition, will be on display.
In addition, videos and photographs that give a glimpse of the environment in which the work is created, such as "the person's daily life", "work scenery", and "family and teacher's support" are also exhibited. Through the exhibition, we would like to think together about what it means for people with disabilities to live well in this society.
We will talk about Takubo's works, artists with disabilities, art in general, and the surrounding society and environment. Special guests such as Chizuru Higashi (actress/representative of Get in touch), Hiroaki Nakatsugawa (artist/representative of AIM) and other curators of this exhibition are also scheduled.
Talk between Chizuru Azuma and Nakatsugawa at Ego & Entertainment Gallery, the venue for Tae Takubo's solo exhibition. The two of us have held talk shows many times on various occasions and places, and it's always a fun time with new discoveries about art, social activities, and welfare.
